Your Pool Construction Process
The pool construction process can be intimidating, especially for first time pool owners. We want you to be at ease from day one, so it’s important to us that you know exactly what to expect. While each pool construction process varies slightly in timeframe depending on the scale of the project and the unique requirements of the site, the following is a basic layout of each building phase.
- Site Layout: Prior to construction, we will layout the outline of the swimming pool that we have designed for you. With your approval, we are ready to dig.
- Excavation: This will begin the pool construction process. We will remove existing soil and shape the swimming pool to your design specifications. Time to complete: one day.
- Steel Installation: Rebar is installed forming the floor and walls of the swimming pool, giving shape to your pool design. This will ensure strength and durability to your pool. Time to complete: one day.
- Stub Out: Our trusted plumbing subcontractors will install main drains and returns in the shell of the pool. Time to complete: one day.
- Gunite: Gunite is pneumatically applied under high air pressure to guarantee the life and durability of your pool. Time to complete: one day.
- Plumbing: The plumbers will return to install the equipment and complete the plumbing process. Time to complete: one day.
- Electrical: Our licensed electrician will hook up your equipment which includes lights, filtration system, and any other items that may have been added. Time to complete: one day.
- Tile and Coping: We begin by installing the tile you have selected along the pool's top interior, also known as the waterline. Once the tile has been applied, we install the selected coping around the perimeter of the pool on the topside of the beam. Time to complete: three to four days.
- Decking: Your selected decking will be applied around the outside perimeter of the pool. This is done by setting forms, digging piers and beams, and installing deck drains. Once completed, your deck is ready to be poured. Time to complete: three days.
- Plaster: Your pool is now nearly complete. The last stage in the construction process is the application of your selected plaster before finally filling the pool with water. Time to complete: two days.
Our average pool construction process takes 4-6 weeks to complete, allowing for weather delays. Before breaking ground, we will provide you with an estimated completion date, based on your particular design requirements, so that you can begin planning for your pool enjoyment!
